What is Medicare Advantage?

A Medicare Advantage(MA) Plan is a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with all your Part A and Part B benefits. Medicare Advantage Plans include Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations, Private Fee-for-Service Plans, Special Needs Plans, and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans. If you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, Medicare services are covered through the plan and aren’t paid for under Original Medicare. Most Medicare Advantage Plans offer prescription drug coverage.e accustomed to. As always, we are ready and available to assist you.


Medicare Advantage Plan Choices

Unlike Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans, Medicare Advantage plans are not standardized, which means no two plans are exactly alike. Each company offering Medicare Advantage plans re-negotiates the specifics of their plans with Medicare on an annual basis.

Representing all the companies offering Medicare Advantage plans in our area, my goal is to help you choose which plan is most suitable for you; factors that might be important are prescription costs, medical co-pays/co-insurance, additional benefits, participating providers, etc.

Each year during the Annual Election Period(AEP) from October 15-December 7, you can switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another with the new one starting January 1st of the following year. The only health condition that will prevent you from making a change is if you have End Stage Renal Disease(ESRD) requiring kidney dialysis.
